My Panel at the Lighthouse Gallery at Pemaquid Point, Maine

Here is an image of my panel as it appeared at the opening in June of 2013:

The opening was quite well attended.  Still, I managed to take this photo right after someone walked by in front of it.

Here are images of each of the pictures on the panel:

Color Awareness #1

I painted several watercolors on the same 14 X 20 block.  It took quite a long time and that is why I haven't posted recently.  Over the next few days, I will be posting each of the five paintings in chronological order.

Here is the first of the five of one of my favorite subjects, a lobster buoy floating in the water.  I am experimenting more with color.  I won't go into details.  All I can say is that this is a simpler approach that explores what I am calling "color awareness".  As I have stated in prior posts, I learned about using color during a studio class offered by Daniel Corey a couple of years ago.  The class was in oil painting, and I have been trying to develop techniques that would enable one to apply "color awareness" to watercolor.  What do you think?

Big Wave at Pemaquid Point

A couple of weeks ago, we had a big blow out of the south.  I went to Pemaquid Point to see the breakers.  This is what ocean looked like that day.

Water Music

I have begun to use 18" x 24" watercolor paper.  Here is my latest buoy in water on this larger paper size, "Water Music".
